About Ganesh Puja
Lord Ganesh, the elephant-headed god, is worshipped as the remover of obstacles and lord of beginnings. Ganesh Puja is performed before any new venture, during festivals, or for seeking his divine blessings.

Host Preparation for Ganesh Puja
Essential items for the devotee family to keep ready before the priest arrives:
1. Ganesh Idol & Chowki
Clay or metal idol of Lord Ganesha placed on a clean wooden stool (chowki) covered with a fresh red or yellow cloth facing East or North.
2. Fresh Durva & Modaks
21 clean stems of sacred Durva grass, fresh red flowers (hibiscus preferred), and 21 modaks or laddoos prepared for the ceremonial naivedya.
3. Aarti Diya & Samagri
Brass or earthen diyas filled with pure ghee, camphor (kapur) for aarti, betel leaves with supari, and clean cotton wicks.
