About Rudrabhishek Puja
Rudrabhishek is one of the most powerful rituals dedicated to Lord Shiva. The ceremony involves bathing the Shiva Lingam with 11 sacred substances (Dravya) including milk, honey, ghee, curd, sugar, rice, coconut, banana, bel leaves, sacred water, and gangajal.
This puja is performed with chanting of Rudra Namakam and Rudra Chamakam from the Yajurveda. It is believed that performing this puja with devotion pleases Lord Shiva and brings peace, spiritual harmony, and auspiciousness to one's home.

Preparation Checklist for Rudrabhishek
Items and arrangements prepared by the host family before abhishek begins:
1. Fresh Abhishek Liquids
Arrange fresh raw cow milk, curd, honey, ghee, sugarcane juice (or sweetened water), and clean gangajal for the ceremonial bathing of Shiva Lingam.
2. Bilva Patra & Flowers
Fresh Bilva (Bel) leaves (unbroken 3-leaf clusters), white flowers, dhatura, and chandan (sandalwood paste) are kept ready near the Shiva altar.
3. Lingam Altar & Plate
A copper, brass, or silver broad plate (Thali) with an outlet or basin to collect the abhishek charanamrit, placed on a clean altar platform.
